We are providing multiple energy storage technologies such as Thermal storage, mechanical storage, and batteries. Their purpose is to store energy. Starting from thermal storage. This storage is used for electricity generation from the sun. Specific solar plants captured the heat of the sun. This is then stored in fluids like water and molten salts.
Then comes the mechanical storage. Mechanical storage is achieved by storing water, compressed air, hydrogen, and flywheels. Compressed Air Energy Storage is a storage technology. This worked by using compressed air’s elastic energy to increase gas turbine efficiencies. Flywheels store electricity in the form of spinning mass. Hydrogen is used for the fuel of electricity generation.
On large scales, we store energy in Batteries. The battery is one of the most common forms to store electricity. The electric vehicle industry is increasing overall in the world. Batteries store renewable energy and release it when needed. These batteries are used in three different scales: for household, for transmission ( & distribution), and grid stability or generation. The batteries are energy efficient and sustainable.
